Go Figure - 3rd April

Damien Duff has scored in three of Blackburn's last four games and these wins have allayed relegation fears. His other two goals were also recorded in victories - Blackburn have only managed four wins when he has not been on the scoring sheet

The league leader for goals equating to victories this season is fellow-Rover, Andrew Cole, who picked up four of his seven with his previous club Manchester United, matching a similar performance in 1996/7 when with the Red Devils

Cantona's 1993/4 record of 14 looks like it might stand for some time. The other 20 games he played in resulted in 9 wins 10 draws and but a single loss; United lost 3 of the 8 games he missed that season.

The inaugural season produced the other leading performances as Dean Saunders and David Phillips help propel Aston Villa and Norwich into second and third places, respectively. In 1993/4 Villa were unbeaten in the first seven games Saunders scored in before a 1-4 defeat ended the run. Somewhat surprisingly transferred at season's end, Phillips never regained his form and managed only one more goal in 83 Premiership games. That game ended in a draw which means that the current all-time record-holder of scoring in only victorious games (spread over five seasons) rests with George Boateng.

In terms of bad-luck charms, Micah Hyde, Richard Johnson (both Watford) and Chris Riggott (Derby County) have each scored in just three games, all lost. Colin Cooper is the only player with two such outcomes this season. In 1993/4 Andy Mutch scored in six games none of which ended in a victory.
